Biography
John Tedeschi has produced art festivals, fashion shows, modern dance, opera, rock, theatre and recital performances. Directing credits include: The Telephone, Susannah, Rigoletto, OH! The Sport of Love, Don Giovanni, Across the Sea, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Carousel, Orpheus in the Underworld, Songs for a New World, Hymn to Her, Permission, Pippin, A Night of Theatre, and many opera scene studies. He has served as Vocal Supervisor on Les Miserables, Tommy, Blood and Fire, and has produced Baggage Claim, Malan: Fashion Show, Carnival of Culture, The Gay Life Expo, September Concert, and Detour.
John played Bruce Bechdel - Fun Home - in the premiere regional production in the town where the story takes place; and this production earned John a BroadwayWorld Best Actor nomination. John’s film work includes The Vampire Leland, Stuck on Someday, October, Statue, and television work on All Souls, Mysteries at the Museum, All My Children, The History of the Wife, andThe Brini Maxwell Show.
John enjoys a thriving vocal studio in NYC,and is on the wonderful faculty of the fabulous Rider University, and the inspired Marymount Manhattan College! As a voice teacher to Broadway actors, opera singers, recording artists and college students, he focuses on the stability of breath and the physical connection of palate, larynx, breath, and onset as a foundation for placement, range, versatility, focus and stamina. John holds a Bachelor of Music from Boston University, College for the Arts and a Master of Music from The Hartt School, University of Hartford. He lives, with his husband Joel, in Stockbridge, MA and Manhattan, NY where he tries to be patient while waiting for the subway.
